COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – In the wake of the tragic events that unfolded at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) campus, the music community is coming together to honour one of their own. Samuel Knopp, a 24-year-old music student at UCCS, was one of the victims found dead in a dorm room on Friday, along with 26-year-old Celie Rain Montgomery. The suspect, Nicholas Jordan, appeared in court on Tuesday, where his bond was raised to $5 million, cash only.
Samuel Knopp was known for his passion for music, particularly his skill on the guitar. Anthony Scornavacco, a friend and fellow musician, recalls meeting Knopp at a music store in August 2023. The two bonded over their love for music and eventually played together in a band. Shocked by Knopp’s untimely death, Scornavacco is organising a concert to raise funds for Knopp’s family to cover funeral expenses.
The concert, scheduled for April 26 at Sunshine Studios, will feature performances by local rock bands. Each $12 ticket sold will contribute $3 towards Knopp’s family. Additionally, a guitar will be auctioned off during the event. Scornavacco hopes to raise thousands of dollars to support Knopp’s family during this difficult time.
