PITTSBURGH — An arrest warrant has been issued for a 17-year-old who was involved in a shooting in Pittsburgh’s East Hills on Christmas Day, according to authorities.
The incident occurred on the 2000 block of Fairlawn Street at 5:10 p.m. on Christmas, prompting emergency crews to respond to the scene.
As per the criminal complaint, a 17-year-old victim sustained a gunshot wound to the leg and was transported to the hospital in stable condition. Additionally, a second individual with a gunshot wound to the foot arrived at the hospital through private means.
Surveillance footage captured a white Dodge Challenger in the vicinity of the shooting around 4:30 p.m. on Christmas Day. The license plate of the vehicle was traced back to the second victim, as detailed in the complaint.
Approximately 20 minutes later, the same Challenger returned to the area and stopped at Fairlawn Street. A confrontation ensued between the occupant of the vehicle and the first victim, identified as Jaiden Green.
In a quick succession of events, Green retrieved a firearm and began firing at the car, while the occupants of the vehicle returned fire. Following the exchange, Green fled down Sunrise Street and was later discovered on the front porch in the 1900 block of Fairlawn Street.
Both Green and the second victim claimed to have no recollection of the events leading up to the shooting. Green also professed ignorance regarding how he sustained his gunshot wound.
Green now faces charges of aggravated assault, possession of a firearm as a minor, and carrying a firearm without a license in connection to the incident.
