Accident – Death – Obituary News :

Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker has announced charges against two individuals in the mass shooting at Union Station just after the Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl victory rally on Wednesday, Feb. 14.

These new charges are against two adults and not the two juveniles who were charged in Jackson County Family Court last week. The two juveniles could potentially be certified and tried as adults, but are currently being held in juvenile detention on gun-related and resisting arrest charges.

Identification of Suspects

The two men charged in connection with the shooting have been identified as Dominic M. Miller of Kansas City, Missouri, and Lyndell Mays of Raytown, Missouri. Both adults are facing felony charges of second-degree murder, two counts of armed criminal action, and two counts of unlawful use of weapons. The charges carry a potential life sentence in prison for each individual. Both suspects are currently being held on separate $1 million bonds.

Victims of the Shooting

The shooting resulted in the tragic death of a 43-year-old mother of two, Elizabeth ‘Lisa’ Lopez-Galvan. Additionally, 22 other individuals were injured in the incident, including the two men now facing charges. Jackson County prosecutors have stated that the shooting stemmed from a verbal altercation and argument, with Mays allegedly being the first to pull out a weapon. It is believed that Mays’ weapon was responsible for the death of Lopez-Galvan.

Investigation and Possible Additional Charges

Authorities have indicated that additional charges could be filed as the investigation progresses. The focus remains on gathering evidence and conducting thorough inquiries to ensure justice is served in this tragic case.
