Accident – Death – Obituary News :
On the evening of February 20th, the Wilmington Police Department received a call about a disturbance at the Scotchman store located at 898 S. Kerr Ave. The caller reported that a woman was inside the store threatening people with a machete.
The woman, identified as 39-year-old Carrie Shemeka McDonald, was still inside the store with the machete when officers arrived on the scene. Fortunately, she dropped the weapon and was promptly taken into custody by the police.
Upon searching McDonald, the officers also found that she was in possession of spice, a synthetic drug. As a result, McDonald is facing charges of possession of schedule I narcotics, going armed to the terror of the public, and resisting, delaying, and obstructing public officers. She is currently being held at the New Hanover County Detention Facility without bond.
