Accident – Death – Obituary News :
A 50-year-old man from Big Clifty, Kentucky, found himself in legal trouble after a tense standoff with law enforcement officers on Monday. William Litteral was taken into custody and faces multiple charges, including menacing, second-degree disorderly conduct, first-degree fleeing or evading police on foot, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
The incident unfolded at around 1 p.m. when Grayson County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a call regarding a person requesting the removal of an individual from their property. Simultaneously, another deputy received a report of a man wielding a firearm and making threats on Morrison Road.
Upon arrival, authorities identified the armed individual as Litteral, who matched the description provided by the property owner. Despite commands to drop the weapon, Litteral continued to walk away from deputies, prompting a standoff situation.
After several minutes of negotiation, Litteral eventually lowered the gun to his side, within arm’s reach. Despite repeated instructions to raise his hands and move away from the weapon, Litteral defied orders.
In a bid to subdue the suspect, law enforcement officers deployed a taser, causing Litteral to collapse and allowing for his apprehension. Following his arrest, Litteral was transported to the Grayson County Detention Center to await further legal proceedings.
