Accident – Death – Obituary News :

Last week, the Hall County Sheriff’s Office made a significant arrest after a drug investigation led to the apprehension of three individuals.

The incident occurred on Tuesday evening when agents from Homeland Security conducted a search of a minivan near Thurmon Ranner Parkway in Oakwood. During the search, law enforcement officials discovered 230 grams of methamphetamine, which appeared to be packaged for distribution.

In addition to the methamphetamine, authorities also found two suspected fentanyl pills, a stolen handgun, two scales, and a small amount of cash. The estimated street value of the seized methamphetamine was approximately $17,300.

The individuals arrested in connection with the drug bust were identified as 26-year-old Tina Ta Bui, hailing from Augusta, 30-year-old Ignacio Mondragon of Gainesville, and 39-year-old Peggy Lynn Vieira, also from Gainesville.

Each of the suspects is facing multiple felony charges, including trafficking methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and theft by receiving. As of now, all three remain in custody at the Hall County Jail without bond.

Law enforcement officials are actively continuing their investigation into the matter.

In a separate incident, two individuals were arrested following a routine traffic stop in Hall County on Thursday.

The arrests took place after Hall County deputies pulled over an SUV traveling northbound on Interstate 985 near the Spout Springs Road exit just after midnight. The vehicle was stopped due to a malfunctioning taillight and its failure to maintain its lane of travel.

Upon searching the SUV, deputies discovered a bag containing 30 grams of methamphetamine in possession of one of the passengers, identified as Ira Gregory Earls, 47, from Flowery Branch. Earls also had scales and a mirror in his possession and allegedly resisted arrest during the incident.

The driver of the SUV, identified as Mindy Elizabeth Chattin, 52, from Dahlonega, was found with a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia consistent with methamphetamine use. Chattin received citations for various traffic violations in addition to her drug-related charges.

Earls was charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, trafficking in methamphetamine, possession of drug-related objects, and obstruction of justice. Chattin, on the other hand, faces charges of marijuana possession and possession of drug-related objects.

The third individual in the SUV was not charged in relation to the incident.
