A man from North Carolina, identified as Samuel Graham, has been accused of stealing more than £2,700 worth of merchandise from nine different stores across Georgia, according to local police authorities.

The suspect allegedly used stolen account numbers to make purchases at various retail outlets in the Athens area, sparking an investigation by Athens-Clarke County police. The probe was initiated on February 16 when a store reported suspicious activity involving a suspect using stolen account numbers to make fraudulent transactions at multiple stores.

Upon receiving this tip-off, law enforcement officials discovered that the suspect was in possession of fraudulent identification and multiple stolen account numbers. Subsequently, officers were able to track down the suspect in his vehicle and recover additional stolen items.

Samuel Graham was apprehended by Athens police and has been charged with identity fraud and possession of a fraudulent ID. Authorities have indicated that additional charges may be forthcoming from various jurisdictions across Georgia as the investigation continues.

Following his arrest, Graham was booked at the Clarke County Jail, with a bond set at £10,000 according to online jail records.
