Nicholas Jordan : Student Arrested After Fatal Dorm Incident: Colorado Springs Uni

Authorities in Colorado Springs, Colo., have apprehended a 25-year-old man following a tragic incident that claimed the lives of two individuals in a dormitory at the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs.

The suspect, identified as Nicholas Jordan from Detroit, Michigan, was taken into custody by the Colorado Springs Police Department.

The arrest of Jordan took place without incident early Monday morning. The University of Colorado-Colorado Springs has confirmed that Jordan is currently enrolled as a student at the institution. He is facing two charges of first-degree murder.

Jordan is expected to make a court appearance on Tuesday afternoon.

The two victims, Celie Rain Montgomery, 26, and Samuel Knopp, 24, were identified on Sunday. Knopp, a senior at UCCS, was a dedicated music student and a cherished member of the Visual and Performing Arts department, according to a university representative. Montgomery, who was not affiliated with the university, had an unclear relationship with Knopp.

The tragic discovery of the victims was made after law enforcement responded to reports of gunfire around 6 a.m. on Friday. The police have indicated that the cause of death will be determined by the coroner’s office, with both individuals having sustained at least one gunshot wound.

Authorities believe that the shooting incident was isolated in nature and have reassured the public that there is no ongoing threat.

Willow Kitchens, a friend of Sam Knopp, shared fond memories of him, stating, “He definitely knew what suited him…He had his personality, and he knew what it was. He knew who he was.”
