Louisville, Ky. (WAVE) – Tragedy struck once again in the Russell neighborhood as a second victim has tragically passed away following a quadruple shooting that occurred in January.
The incident took place on January 31, when police rushed to the scene near South 12th Street and West Muhammad Ali Boulevard after receiving reports of gunshots around 12:30 p.m.
Upon arrival, law enforcement discovered four men who had sustained gunshot wounds. Sadly, one of the victims, 22-year-old Corey Dillard, was pronounced dead at the scene. The remaining individuals were immediately transported to UofL Hospital in critical condition.
On Monday, the Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) confirmed the devastating news that a second victim had succumbed to their injuries the day after the shooting took place.
As of now, the identity of the second victim has not been disclosed to the public.
The investigation into this tragic incident is still ongoing, with authorities yet to identify any suspects.
