Man Charged with Homicide in Brutal Stabbing of Girlfriend

A criminal complaint released by the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office reveals the chilling details of a tragic incident that led to the death of 23-year-old Jaden Battista. The suspect, identified as 23-year-old Trevor Weigel, allegedly confessed to police that he discovered Jaden was cheating on him, prompting him to “lose it.”

According to the affidavit, Jaden was in a FaceTime call with a juvenile witness (JW1) when Weigel forcefully entered her home on Waterford Road in Churchville. The witness reported hearing a commotion followed by a thump, with Jaden’s voice becoming muffled as if someone was silencing her.

Lower Makefield Officer Robert Kennedy responded to reports of a burglary in progress and found Weigel outside Jaden’s home next to a red Ford Mustang. Kennedy witnessed Weigel violently attacking Jaden, stabbing her multiple times on her upper body before fleeing the scene.

Despite the officer’s efforts to render aid, Jaden succumbed to her injuries while Weigel was apprehended on Interstate 295 after a brief chase. He was later hospitalized for self-inflicted injuries sustained during the incident.

An autopsy conducted by Dr. Ian Hood determined that Jaden Battista died from multiple stab wounds to the neck and chest. Weigel has been charged with criminal homicide, burglary, possession of an instrument of crime, disorderly conduct, and harassment.
