Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre has reported the arrest of Tre’ Booty, an 18-year-old resident of Lockport, in connection with a fatal stabbing incident that occurred on Sunday. The victim, identified as Hunter Parks, a 20-year-old from Larose, tragically lost his life as a result of the altercation.
On the afternoon of February 18, 2024, authorities received a distress call regarding a stabbing incident on Adams Street in Mathews. Upon their arrival at the scene, deputies apprehended Booty, who was found in a nearby vehicle with what appeared to be bloodstains on his clothing. The victim, Parks, was discovered with multiple stab wounds to his torso. Despite the deputies’ efforts to administer first aid, Parks succumbed to his injuries before medical assistance could arrive.
An investigation into the incident revealed that Parks was at his mother’s residence when Booty arrived, leading to a confrontation between the two individuals. The altercation escalated, resulting in Booty allegedly stabbing Parks multiple times.
Following the arrest, Booty was taken into custody and booked at the Lafourche Parish Correctional Complex in Thibodaux. He has been charged with second-degree murder, with bail set at $500,000.
