In a shocking incident, a two-year-old nomadic girl named Mary was abducted in the capital city of Thiruvananthapuram. The toddler, the daughter of Amardeep and Rabeena Devi from L P Nagar in Hyderabad, was taken from her sleep alongside her three siblings.
The abduction is believed to have been carried out using an Activa scooter. The family reported her missing around 12 am, with the child’s brother stating that a yellow scooter with a single occupant was involved in the abduction. The area where the incident took place is predominantly inhabited by migrant labourers.
Following the filing of the complaint, the Thiruvananthapuram city police commissioner has spearheaded an intensive search operation. However, no concrete leads have emerged even hours after the child’s disappearance.
The abduction occurred near All Saints College, prompting authorities to extend the search to railway stations due to the possibility of the abductor using a train for escape. With uncertainty surrounding the exact timing of the incident, investigators are facing challenges in piecing together the sequence of events. CCTV footage is being scrutinized, and border checks have been heightened by the police.
