Accident – Death – Obituary News :

Astronomers have made a groundbreaking discovery, identifying what may be the brightest object in the universe. This extraordinary finding is a quasar with a black hole at its core that is growing at an unprecedented rate, consuming the equivalent of a sun every single day.

The quasar, known as J0529-4351, shines an astonishing 500 trillion times brighter than our sun. At the heart of this distant quasar lies a black hole that is more than 17 billion times more massive than our sun. Lead author Christian Wolf of Australian National University described the quasar as “the most violent place that we know in the universe.”

The Ferocious Nature of the Quasar

Despite appearing as a mere dot in images, the quasar is a tumultuous and energetic phenomenon. The rotating disk surrounding the black hole is akin to a cosmic hurricane, with luminous swirling gas and matter from devoured stars fueling its intense brightness.

The European Southern Observatory initially spotted J0529-4351 during a sky survey in 1980, mistaking it for a star. It wasn’t until last year that the object was correctly identified as a quasar, thanks to observations from telescopes in Australia and Chile’s Atacama Desert.

The Enormous Appetite of the Quasar

Recent observations and computer modelling have revealed that the quasar is consuming an astounding 370 suns worth of mass each year, equating to roughly one sun per day. The black hole’s mass has been estimated to be between 17 and 19 billion times that of our sun, indicating its rapid growth.

Situated 12 billion light-years away, J0529-4351 has been present since the early stages of the universe. To put this distance into perspective, a light-year is equivalent to 5.8 trillion miles.
