WHITE COUNTY, Ind. — Indiana State Police apprehended three individuals following a pursuit that crossed Tippecanoe and White Counties.

On Saturday afternoon, a trooper patrolling County Road 300 East in White County spotted a 2023 Kia Sorento believed to be linked to a theft at a Walmart in Monticello, according to a press release.

Upon attempting to pull over the Sorento, the vehicle failed to stop and instead fled southbound on County Road 300 East.

The driver, identified as 23-year-old Joshua Dozier from New York, led law enforcement on a chase that traversed County Road 1250 South, County Road 900 North, and State Road 43 before coming to a halt near Soldiers Home Road in Tippecanoe County.

State police revealed that Dozier lost control of the vehicle while trying to make a turn onto Soldiers Home Road, resulting in two passengers, later identified as 21-year-olds Patrick Singleton and Quincy Brown, fleeing on foot. Both Singleton and Brown are also from New York.

Dozier remained in the Sorento and was apprehended, while Singleton and Brown were captured with the assistance of police K9 Bo. Authorities later recovered what is believed to be marijuana on Singleton’s person.

Following the crash near Soldiers Home Road, all three individuals were transported to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries. They were subsequently taken to the White County Jail upon their release from the hospital.

  • Possession of Marijuana, Class B Misdemeanor
