Grace O’Malley-Kumar : “UK Cops Rapped for Sharing Murder Details of Indian-Origin Teen”

An unnamed police officer is currently undergoing a misconduct hearing after sharing sensitive information in a WhatsApp group regarding the tragic case of 19-year-old British-Indian teenager, Grace O\’Malley-Kumar, who was stabbed to death along with two others near Nottingham University on June 13, 2023.

In a shocking turn of events, Valdo Calocane, a 32-year-old dual Guinea-Bissau/Portuguese national, pleaded guilty to manslaughter in January, related to the deaths of Grace O\’Malley-Kumar, student Barnaby Webber, and school caretaker Ian Coates.

Reports from the media indicate that during the misconduct hearing held last month, it was revealed that the officer had shared graphic details of the victims\’ injuries shortly after the tragic incident took place.

Another officer, identified as Police Constable (PC) Matthew Gell, received a “final written warning” for sharing what was described as a “distasteful” message on WhatsApp with his wife and a friend.

The unnamed officer was instructed to undergo additional training as a result of the incident.

Emma Webber, the mother of victim Barnaby Webber, expressed her disappointment, stating that the “internal unnecessary voyeurism regarding our loved ones is inexcusable.”

During a court hearing at Nottingham Crown Court in January, it was established that Calocane\’s guilty plea was based on diminished responsibility, due to his severe mental illness diagnosed as ‘paranoid schizophrenia’ by mental health professionals.

Initially denying three counts of murder, Calocane eventually admitted to three counts of manslaughter in November 2023.

Grace O\’Malley-Kumar, who displayed immense bravery during the attack, bravely tried to fend off Calocane while walking home with Barnaby Webber after a night out.

Witnesses recalled hearing a harrowing scream as Grace crawled towards nearby residences in search of help.

CCTV footage revealed that Calocane had been loitering in the vicinity with a rucksack and a holdall containing multiple weapons just hours before the fatal attack occurred.
