Following Wednesday’s tragic events at the Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl victory parade, two juveniles have been arrested in connection with the shooting incident. The Jackson County Family Court Division has confirmed that the juveniles are currently in secure detention at the Juvenile Detention Center, facing charges related to firearms and resisting arrest. Additional charges are expected as the Kansas City Police Department’s investigation progresses.

Authorities have not released the names of the suspects involved in the shooting that left 22 individuals injured, with a majority of the victims being under the age of 16. The age range of those affected by the gunfire ranged from eight to 47 years old.

The tragic loss of local DJ and mother-of-two, Elizabeth Lopez-Galvan, has deeply impacted the community. A GoFundMe campaign initiated by Ms Lopez-Galvan’s family has raised over $190,000, with a significant contribution from singer Taylor Swift, who donated $100,000 to support the family in their time of need.

Children’s Mercy hospital has reported that all 12 patients admitted following the shooting have been discharged, except for one individual who remains in critical condition at another medical facility.

Lisa Lopez-Galvan, a 43-year-old mother-of-two and prominent local radio personality, tragically lost her life in the shooting incident. Her adult son and cousins, believed to be minors, were also caught in the crossfire, as reported by The Kansas City Star.

Beto Lopez, the victim’s brother, shared heartfelt memories of his sister, describing her as a beloved figure in the community known for her vibrant personality and dedication to her family.

Ms Lopez-Galvan’s two adult children and other relatives were present at the parade, with her son sustaining injuries but later recovering, according to The Kansas City Star.

A GoFundMe campaign initiated on behalf of Ms Lopez-Galvan’s family has garnered significant support, raising over $350,000 to aid the bereaved loved ones.
