The U Thong Police Station in the U Thong district of Suphan Buri received a distressing report of the stabbing and immediately dispatched officers to the scene. Upon arrival, they discovered a dark blue motorcycle and a black Honda Wave, both stained with blood. Surrounding the vehicles were a group of the victim’s friends, who were visibly shaken by the tragic events that had unfolded.
The victim, later identified as 16-year-old Chalermchai Muang-im, was swiftly rushed to U Thong Hospital. Tragically, he succumbed to his injuries en route to the medical facility. The rescue team revealed that Chalermchai had sustained a fatal stab wound to the left side of his chest, indicating the severity of the attack.
According to Chalermchai’s friends, who range in age from 12 to 15, two assailants fled the scene on a white Honda Wave motorcycle following the altercation. The confrontation reportedly began when one of the friends innocently glanced at the two individuals as they passed by on their motorcycle. This seemingly innocuous action escalated into a violent and deadly encounter.
Eyewitnesses recounted that the two attackers confronted the group of friends, demanding an explanation for their actions. In a bid to shield his companions, Chalermchai courageously stepped forward, asserting that the innocent gaze was not intended to provoke any conflict. The attackers, however, grew increasingly agitated and launched a physical assault on the group.
In a harrowing turn of events, one of the attackers brandished a knife and attempted to stab a 12-year-old boy. Fortunately, the quick reflexes of the young victim allowed him to evade the lethal blow. Tragically, Chalermchai bore the brunt of the assailant’s rage, suffering a fatal stab wound before the perpetrators fled the scene.
Heartbreakingly, Chalermchai’s friends revealed that they had no prior acquaintance with the attackers and no history of animosity towards them. The motive behind the brutal attack remains unclear, leaving the community reeling from the senseless loss of a promising young life.
Following an intensive investigation, law enforcement authorities managed to apprehend one of the suspects, identified as 26-year-old Chaiyana, on February 18. Chaiyana cooperated with the authorities, revealing that his accomplice, known as Jade, was the primary assailant in the incident. Jade is currently evading capture, but authorities express confidence in apprehending him promptly.
Reports from Channel 3 suggest that Chaiyana and Jade have a history of substance abuse, raising speculation about the role of drugs in the violent altercation. However, law enforcement officials have yet to confirm this information, emphasizing the ongoing nature of the investigation.
