Accident – Death – Obituary News :

A man is currently in custody after reportedly holding a victim captive overnight and then leading Williamson County deputies on a pursuit. The incident took place in rural Cambria, Illinois.

The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office received a call at 9:11 a.m. on Sunday, February 18, regarding a domestic battery in the area. Upon reaching the scene, deputies found a woman who had returned home at approximately 4 p.m. on Saturday to find Larry D. Parsons hiding in her bedroom.

Parsons, who is prohibited by an order of protection from having any contact with the victim or her residence, was armed with a knife. He allegedly threatened to kill the victim, struck her in the head with a metal object, and kept her captive until she managed to escape early on Sunday morning. The victim reported that Parsons had told her they were both going to die that night.

After the victim reported the incident and received medical attention, deputies went to the victim’s residence to confirm that Parsons had left. At the scene, they witnessed Parsons loading the victim’s belongings into his vehicle.

A pursuit ensued as deputies attempted to apprehend Parsons, who fled the scene at a high speed through Cambria. However, he lost control of his vehicle, which then struck multiple utility poles, rolled over, and landed in a ditch. Emergency services had to use the “jaws of life” to extract Parsons from the wrecked vehicle.
