In a troubling incident in Rialto, a father was apprehended by the police for engaging in vandalism, commonly referred to as “tagging,” while intoxicated, with his teenage stepson present in the vehicle, according to authorities.

The incident took place in the 700 block of W. Baseline Road, where alert officers observed an individual actively spray-painting the block wall surrounding the West Valley Water District. Shockingly, the suspect’s juvenile stepson was witnessing the illegal act from their car, the police reported.

Swift and decisive action by law enforcement led to the immediate apprehension of the suspect, identified as 32-year-old Carlos Nunez, a resident of the City of Rialto. Further investigation revealed that Nunez not only arrived at the scene under the influence of alcohol but also had spray paint and a permanent marker in his possession, the police disclosed.

Carlos Nunez now faces serious charges, including Felony Vandalism (PC 594(b)(1)), Child Endangerment (PC 273(a)), and Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol (VC 23152(a)). He was promptly arrested and booked into the West Valley Detention Center.
