Accident – Death – Obituary News : A visitor at a zoo in Tirupati, India met a tragic end after attempting to enter a lion enclosure for a selfie and getting mauled to death by the animal. The man, identified as Prahalad Gurjar, 34, ignored warnings from zoo employees and climbed over the wall and chain-link fencing into the Sri Venkateswara zoological park’s enclosure.

According to reports, the lion attacked Gurjar as soon as he entered the enclosure. Despite efforts by the animal keeper and security staff to save him, Gurjar was dragged further inside and succumbed to his injuries within 10 minutes. The 12-year-old lion was temporarily moved to its night house while authorities retrieved the body.

It was reported that Gurjar appeared to be under the influence of alcohol before the incident. The enclosure, which is surrounded by a 4-foot wall and a 6-foot iron fence, had never experienced such a breach in security before. The zoo has vowed to conduct a thorough review of its security measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Gurjar hailed from the Alwar District in northern India. Fox News Digital has reached out to the zoo for further comments on the tragic incident.
