A heartbreaking incident unfolded in Tangail’s Gopalpur Upazila as a bus collided with a motorcycle carrying a woman and her son, resulting in their tragic demise. The accident took place in the Jhawail area of the upazila around 8 am on Saturday, as reported by Gopalpur Police Station chief Emdadul Islam Taiyab.
The victims, identified as Chaina Begum, aged 48, and her son Shakib Mia, aged 19, met with a fatal end due to the collision. Shakib was driving his mother to the Sadar Upazila on the motorcycle when the bus, travelling in the opposite direction, crashed into them, instantly claiming their lives, Taiyab confirmed.
In the aftermath of the tragic incident, the authorities have taken control of the bus involved in the collision. However, the driver and assistant of the bus managed to escape the scene before they could be apprehended, leaving behind a trail of devastation and sorrow.
