New York – In a significant development, a 16-year-old boy has been apprehended by the U.S. Marshals Service on Thursday in connection with a deadly shooting incident that occurred at a bustling New York City subway station during rush hour earlier this week. The teenager is one of the three suspected shooters who were wanted for the shooting on February 13.

According to authorities, the shooting incident was a result of an ongoing dispute between two rival gangs who coincidentally boarded the same train from different stations. The gunfire erupted as the train pulled into an elevated Bronx station at approximately 5 p.m., sending panic among passengers who hurriedly fled the scene. New York Police Department Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny revealed earlier this week that a total of 19 shell casings were recovered, with three of them found inside a subway car.

Tragically, the shooting resulted in the loss of a 35-year-old man named Obed Beltran-Sanchez, who succumbed to a gunshot wound to the chest. Additionally, five other individuals, aged between 14 and 71, sustained injuries in the incident but are expected to recover.

Working in collaboration, the regional fugitive task force and the New York Police Department successfully apprehended the 16-year-old suspect in the Bronx at approximately 11 a.m. The U.S. Marshals Service confirmed that the teenager is currently in custody, awaiting formal charges.
