Bryan Lorenzo : “Broward Sheriff’s Sergeant Arrested at MIA for Ecstasy Possession”

A Broward County Sheriff’s Office sergeant has been placed on administrative leave without pay following his arrest at Miami International Airport on Tuesday for the possession of ecstasy.

Charged with two felony counts of possessing a controlled substance, Bryan Vidal Lorenzo, 35, joined the agency on June 3, 2013, according to the Broward County Sheriff’s Office (BSO).

According to the arrest affidavit, Miami-Dade Police received a call to attend the customs checkpoint at Terminal D in MIA, where they met with two Customs and Border Protection Officers. Both officers reported that a passenger, later identified as Sgt. Lorenzo, had MDMA (commonly known as ecstasy or molly) in his possession.

Providing further details, the CBP officers informed the Miami-Dade Police that they discovered the drug inside Lorenzo’s luggage, specifically in the right cargo pocket of his ski pants.

Following his arrest, Lorenzo was transported to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. The Broward County Sheriff’s Office released a statement on Wednesday morning, confirming that the sergeant had been placed on administrative leave without pay after serving with the agency for over a decade, as reported by CBS News Miami.
