According to authorities, the incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon in the vicinity of First Street and Linden Avenue. The child was inside the car with one of their parents when the parent temporarily stepped away, leaving the vehicle running.

Meanwhile, Reagan Dunn and Yenni Lu happened to be in Long Beach when they received the Amber Alert on their phones. With nothing else to do, the two 20-year-olds decided to drive around and see if they could locate the missing child.

After scouring the Downtown area, Dunn and Lu spotted the stolen Honda Accord near The Pike Outlets. To their surprise, there was no one present near the car, so they immediately contacted 911.

Wood has been taken into custody on charges of kidnapping, child endangerment, and vehicle theft. Police have set his bail at $100,000, and the investigation is still ongoing.
