A tragic incident occurred in Greeley on Wednesday morning, resulting in the death of a 68-year-old woman and the arrest of a 27-year-old man. The Greeley Police Department responded to the crash, which took place around 8 a.m. at the intersection of 35th Avenue and 25th Street.
Upon their arrival at the scene, authorities discovered the passenger, a 68-year-old woman, with severe injuries. She was immediately transported to a nearby hospital, where she was later pronounced dead. Meanwhile, the 63-year-old male driver also sustained injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment. Fortunately, his injuries are not considered life-threatening, and he is expected to recover.
The driver of the other vehicle involved in the crash, identified as 27-year-old Aaron Hernandez, remained at the scene. Subsequently, Hernandez was arrested on charges of careless driving resulting in injury or death, as well as a red light violation. Before being booked into the Weld County Jail, Hernandez underwent evaluation at a hospital.
