Patrick Chacon : “Tragic Hit-and-Run: Boy Killed, Grandma Injured in Gardena”

A heart-wrenching incident occurred in Gardena, as a 5-year-old boy tragically lost his life while his grandmother sustained injuries in a horrific hit-and-run crash.

The young boy, identified as Patrick Chacon from Gardena, and his grandmother were innocently crossing the intersection of Marine and Budlong avenues at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday when an unidentified vehicle struck them. Shockingly, the driver fled the scene, leaving the victims in distress.

The local authorities swiftly responded to the distressing incident. “Upon arrival, officers discovered two pedestrians lying on the roadway,” stated the police in an official statement.

Preliminary investigations reveal that a female driver struck and fatally injured the pedestrian at the intersection of Vermont Avenue and El Segundo Boulevard. Unlike the previous hit-and-run incident, this compassionate driver chose to stay at the scene, cooperating with the police authorities.

The local authorities are actively investigating both incidents, determined to bring the responsible parties to justice and provide closure to the grieving families affected by these tragic accidents.
