Accident – Death – Obituary News : Palm Bay Woman Arrested After Multi-County Police Chase

A Palm Bay woman was apprehended last week following a high-speed chase that spanned across Brevard and Indian River counties, as reported by the Indian River Sheriff’s Office.

According to the arrest affidavit, deputies were dispatched to County Road 510 and Highway A1A at approximately 3:30 a.m. on February 7th in response to reports of a stolen vehicle.

Upon arrival, authorities were informed that the driver, identified as 29-year-old Krishna Janosky, had forcefully rammed the gate at the Patrick Space Force Base.

Janosky then exited her vehicle, along with her four-year-old son, and placed him in another nearby vehicle, according to deputies.

The owner of the vehicle was still seated in the driver’s seat when Janosky entered, but he was instructed to exit the vehicle by base staff, leaving Janosky in the front seat, which allowed her to flee, as stated in the affidavit.

Brevard County deputies initiated a pursuit of Janosky, which continued into Indian River County. Deputies in Indian River County spotted the stolen vehicle traveling south along Highway A1A, leading to a dramatic police chase that ensued.

In an attempt to halt the stolen vehicle, law enforcement deployed two sets of stop sticks, causing the car to swerve onto the shoulder and sidewalk. Deputies then strategically surrounded the vehicle, effectively immobilizing it and ending the chase.

After coming to a stop, Janosky tried to re-enter the vehicle through the back seats, but deputies successfully apprehended and handcuffed her, as detailed in the affidavit.

Deputies discovered that Janosky’s four-year-old son was still in the back seat. They immediately removed the child from the vehicle and ensured his safety until a family member could retrieve him.

During the investigation, Janosky spontaneously admitted, “I know what I did was wrong,” while deputies were gathering her personal information, according to the affidavit.

Janosky provided the following account to deputies:

“Krishna began making statements that she was at a hotel in which Veterans were present but was fearful of them not knowing if they were there to help her or not. Krishna then went on to state she left the hotel with her four-year-old son.

Krishna stated she got to the base and followed the vehicle in front of her. She was then directed to pull over and fearful of what ‘they’ were going to do to her, she got into the man’s vehicle. Krishna advised she took her son out of her vehicle and placed him into this male subject’s vehicle. She got into the front passenger side seat and ducked down. The male was removed from the vehicle, so she got into the front driver’s seat and drove off. Krishna stated she did not know the male subject, but he gave her permission to take it.”

Contrary to Janosky’s account, deputies confirmed that the stolen vehicle was reported as “carjacked” at the base.

Janosky also admitted that the gate hadn’t been opened for her and she was aware of the pursuing deputies, but she refrained from stopping out of fear, according to the affidavit.

Janosky was subsequently arrested and taken into custody. She now faces charges of fleeing, grand theft auto, and child neglect. Her bail has been set at $75,000.

No further information has been provided regarding the incident.
