Jackson police have apprehended a 16-year-old suspect following a shooting incident that resulted in one fatality and another person being injured. Deputy Chief Sequerna Banks announced that Jordan Long, aged 16, has been charged with capital murder and aggravated assault.

The arrest was made in connection with a shooting incident that occurred on Friday, February 9, in the 100 block of Covington Park Drive, where Jadamian Marquez Nichols tragically lost his life after being shot once. Another victim was also shot and subsequently transported to a local hospital, although their condition remains unknown at this time.

Deputy Chief Banks revealed that the investigation is ongoing, with detectives diligently working to identify any additional suspects involved in the incident. As a result, further arrests are expected in the coming days.
