TAXILA: The lifeless body of a senior citizen, who had been missing for the past two days, was discovered in a village while a woman sustained a bullet wound due to an accidental firearm discharge at her residence in Attock on Tuesday, as confirmed by local authorities.

Missing Elderly Man Found Dead

Hussain Gul, a 65-year-old man, had mysteriously disappeared in the Chabb area of Jand, where his lifeless body was eventually recovered from a nearby pond. The diligent team of Rescue 1122 successfully retrieved the deceased from the depths of a 200-meter well and promptly transferred him to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital for further investigation.

Accidental Fire Injures Woman

In a separate incident, a 25-year-old woman sustained a gunshot wound in village Brayair, within the jurisdiction of Hazro police. According to the authorities, Zameer was cleaning his pistol when it accidentally discharged, causing the bullet to strike his wife. The injured woman was expeditiously transported to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, where her condition was reported to be stable and out of danger.

Suspects Apprehended

Local law enforcement agencies in Attock successfully apprehended suspects involved in murder and attempted murder cases.

The spokesperson of the police department informed that Hassanabdal police arrested an individual who had allegedly shot and killed his wife following a heated family dispute in the Patahargarh area. Mohammad Adnan had entered into matrimony with the victim only a few months ago, but due to unresolved differences, the woman had returned to her parental home. Adnan subsequently went to her residence in an attempt to reconcile, but tragically, during their meeting, he shot his wife and immediately fled the scene. On Tuesday, the diligent efforts of the police led to the identification and subsequent arrest of the suspect.

In a separate incident, the Hassanabdal police successfully apprehended a suspected highway robber, who had allegedly been involved in looting dumper drivers. The suspect, identified as Shahzad Ahmed, was reportedly engaged in robbing truck and dumper drivers transporting stone crush from Patahargarh. Acting swiftly, the police arrested the suspect while he was in the act, recovering a pistol and the stolen valuables.

Furthermore, the Hazro police apprehended an individual involved in a case of attempted murder against his brother-in-law, stemming from a family dispute.
