MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – Mobile police have apprehended a 30-year-old suspect following an incident where a Walmart employee was assaulted during a robbery.
The incident took place at the Walmart located on 5245 Rangeline Service Road in Mobile, Alabama, around 12:30 p.m. on Monday. Promptly responding to the scene, officers swiftly took control of the situation.
According to the authorities, the suspect, identified as Emanuel Curry, entered the store with the intention of stealing merchandise. However, his plan was foiled when a vigilant store employee noticed his suspicious behavior and attempted to intervene.
In an attempt to escape, Curry resorted to violence, repeatedly striking the courageous employee with his fist. The victim, bravely standing up to the assailant, sustained injuries and was subsequently transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.
Following the incident, Mobile police wasted no time in apprehending Curry. He was taken into custody and subsequently booked into the Mobile County Metro Jail. Curry now faces a charge of first-degree robbery.
Court records indicate that Curry is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday. It is expected that justice will be served, and the victim’s bravery will be acknowledged during the legal proceedings.
