Accident – Death – Obituary News :

A woman from Wisconsin who is accused of killing a man that allegedly sexually trafficked her as a teenager is now facing extradition back to Kenosha County. The woman, identified as Chrystul Kizer, was apprehended by the U.S. Marshals in Louisiana on Monday, following a nearly two-week-long run from the authorities.

Kizer, who is now 23 years old, had a $40,000 warrant issued for her arrest by the county authorities. She was taken into custody and is currently being held on four counts of extradition at the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center, as indicated by online jail records on Wednesday.

The charges of extradition are linked to previous allegations of felony bail jumping made by Wisconsin prosecutors. They claim that Kizer violated the terms of a $400,000 bond she had posted in June 2020 to secure her release while awaiting trial for the death of Randall Volar III. At the age of 17, Kizer was arrested in 2018 and charged with shooting Volar in the head, setting his house on fire, and fleeing in his car.

Throughout the case, Kizer and her supporters have maintained that Volar, who was 34 years old at the time, had sexually abused and trafficked her for over a year. They argue that Kizer’s actions were in self-defense and that she is being unfairly punished. While prosecutors do not dispute the sexual assault allegations against Volar, they have charged Kizer with arson and first-degree intentional homicide, suggesting that the murder was premeditated.

“Chrystul’s case highlights the urgent need for the criminal legal system to stop prosecuting survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault,” stated the Chicago Community Bond Fund, one of the groups that helped Kizer raise bail, upon her release.

In a separate incident last month, Kizer was charged with misdemeanor disorderly conduct in a domestic violence case at an apartment in Milwaukee. According to a criminal complaint obtained from local station WITI, she called 911 and reported that a man, identified as David Melton, a 47-year-old registered sex offender, had attempted to sexually assault her. When officers arrived at the scene, Kizer became verbally abusive towards Melton, using profane language, before physically assaulting him by striking him in the face.

Kizer was arrested but released the following day, according to Milwaukee County court records. The local district attorney subsequently decided to pursue charges in the case, which triggered the bail-jumping charges in Kenosha County, as reported by WITI.

The U.S. Marshals disclosed that they located Kizer and Melton together in a parking lot in Louisiana on Monday. Melton was also taken into custody for violating his probation, according to the authorities.

Kizer’s trial for Volar’s death is scheduled to commence on June 10th, as reported by WTMJ-TV. If she is convicted, she could face a mandatory life sentence in prison.
