Accident – Death – Obituary News :

An Indian-origin family, including their 4-year-old twin boys, has been discovered dead at their residence in California. The police are currently investigating the case as a murder-suicide, marking yet another devastating incident to hit the Indian community residing in the United States.

The victims have been identified as Anand Sujith Henry, his wife Alice Priyanka, and their 4-year-old twin boys, according to a report by NBC Bay Area. However, the authorities have yet to release the official identities of the victims.

The unfortunate incident occurred in San Mateo on Monday, as stated by the police report. A concerned individual had placed a 911 call, prompting a welfare check at the location, as they had not heard from the family for an extended period. Upon arrival, the police thoroughly searched the premises but found no signs of forced entry.

“Regrettably, we discovered four deceased individuals inside the home, including one adult male, one adult female, and two children,” informed Jerami Surratt, the public information officer with the San Mateo Police Department.

The police officially confirmed on Tuesday that they are treating this case as a murder-suicide. Court records indicate that the husband had filed for divorce in December 2016, but it appears that the process was not completed.

The two young children were discovered lifeless within one of the bedrooms, the police revealed. “The children did not sustain any gunshot wounds. Unfortunately, they were found deceased, so the cause of their death will be determined through autopsy,” stated Mr. Surratt during a press conference on Tuesday.

In the bathroom, the man and woman were found with gunshot wounds, according to the police. A 9-millimeter pistol and a loaded magazine were located in the same bathroom. The police have emphasized that this tragic incident seems to be an isolated one, with no threat to the safety of the general public.

“We are confident that the person responsible was located within the home,” stated the police in a press statement. The entire situation is highly distressing for the family, the community, and the officers involved,” expressed Mr. Surratt.

During the State of the City address on Monday night, Mayor Lisa Diaz Nash of San Mateo held a moment of silence to honor the four individuals found dead in the home. “It was a horrific and devastating event for all of us, impacting not only the community but also our San Mateo Police officers.”

This tragedy is one of several cases involving the deaths of Indian or Indian-American individuals in the country over the past few months. On February 10, a 41-year-old Indian-origin IT executive tragically lost his life after sustaining life-threatening injuries during an assault outside a restaurant in Washington.

Prior to this incident, Syed Mazahir Ali, an Indian student, was attacked by robbers in Chicago. Moreover, 25-year-old Indian student Vivek Saini was fatally assaulted by a homeless drug addict in Lithonia city, Georgia.

In another unfortunate incident, 19-year-old Shreyas Reddy Beniger, an Indian student, was found dead in Ohio, although local authorities have ruled out any foul play. Furthermore, Sameer Kamath, a 23-year-old Indian-American student at Purdue University, was discovered deceased in a nature preserve in Indiana on February 5.

Adding to the list of tragic incidents, Neel Acharya, an Indian student at Purdue University, Indiana, was confirmed dead after being reported missing on January 28. Lastly, Akul B Dhawan, an 18-year-old student at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, was found lifeless last month, showing signs of hypothermia.
