The authorities have released the names of four individuals who tragically succumbed to suspected drug overdoses at a residence in South Lake Tahoe on Monday. The victims have been identified as Abraham Lemus (32 years old), Adam Joy (35 years old), Keely Pereira (33 years old), all residents of South Lake Tahoe, and Clifford Joy (30 years old), a resident of Douglas County.

According to a statement issued by the City of South Lake Tahoe, preliminary tests on the substance discovered at the scene indicate that it may be fentanyl. However, conclusive results are pending, pending the completion of autopsies and toxicology reports.

The South Lake Tahoe Police Department is leading the ongoing investigation into the four deaths, with assistance provided by the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office and the El Dorado County District Attorney’s Office.

Law enforcement agencies are currently investigating a tragic incident that unfolded in a South Lake Tahoe residence on Monday morning, involving the suspected drug-related deaths of four individuals.

At approximately 9:15 a.m., officers from the South Lake Tahoe Police Department responded to a distress call at a residence on Roger Avenue. Upon arrival, they discovered the lifeless bodies of three men and one woman. The identities of the deceased individuals remain unknown at this time.

Authorities have revealed that the victims, all aged between 30 to 40 years old, were found deceased within the property. Additionally, two other individuals were present inside the residence and are fully cooperating with the ongoing investigation.

While substance abuse is suspected as a contributing factor, it has not been definitively confirmed by the police at this stage. The investigation is being conducted by multiple agencies, including the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office, the El Dorado District Attorney’s Office, and the South Lake Tahoe Police Department.
