Accident – Death – Obituary News : MURRAY – Two individuals have been apprehended by the Calloway County Sheriff’s Office Narcotic Division on drug-related charges following a thorough investigation conducted on Thursday morning. The suspects have been identified as 47-year-old Michael “Craig” Williams from Gilbertsville and 25-year-old Jordan T. Ligon from Paducah.
Acting on a tip-off, detectives received information that Williams was en route to a location on Radio Road to distribute a significant amount of crystal methamphetamine and counterfeit Oxycodone M30 pills laced with fentanyl. Detectives successfully intercepted Williams and Ligon just past midnight near the specified location.
During the investigation, authorities conducted a search of the suspects’ vehicle, leading to the discovery of a substantial quantity of crystal methamphetamine, alongside numerous drug-related items. It was also revealed that both occupants tossed various illicit drugs out of the vehicle shortly before being stopped by the detectives. As a result, approximately 22 grams of crystal methamphetamine, nine fentanyl pills, a quantity of Suboxone, and various small plastic baggies were seized. These items are known to be associated with drug trafficking activities.
The Calloway County Sheriff’s Office highlighted that both Williams and Ligon have a significant criminal record involving the manufacturing and trafficking of methamphetamine within the community. Ligon is currently under supervised probation for a meth trafficking case in McCracken County, while Williams is out on bond in Lyon and Livingston counties for charges related to meth trafficking and violent criminal offenses.
Assisting in this investigation, the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office provided support, including the deployment of their K-9 partner named Conor.
Williams has been charged with first-degree trafficking of methamphetamine (Class C felony), trafficking of fentanyl (Class C felony), trafficking of Suboxone (Class D felony), possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and tampering with physical evidence (Class D felony).
On the other hand, Ligon faces charges of second-degree trafficking of methamphetamine (Class B felony), trafficking of fentanyl (Class C felony), trafficking of Suboxone (Class D felony), possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and tampering with physical evidence (Class D felony).
