The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) has announced the arrest of a suspect in connection with a fatal stabbing incident that took place on February 10th in Washington D.C. The incident occurred at the 1600 block of 6th Street, NW.

According to documents provided by MPD, officers were alerted to the incident when a woman flagged them down at the intersection of North Capitol Street and P Streets, NW. The woman reported that she had stabbed a man inside a residence at the aforementioned address. Responding officers quickly proceeded to the residence and discovered a male victim with stab wounds. The victim was immediately transported to a local hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.

On February 10th, the authorities arrested 32-year-old Brittany Gaylor, charging her with assault with intent to kill using a knife. However, on February 11th, the victim, identified as 70-year-old James Gaylor, succumbed to his injuries. As a result, Brittany now faces an upgraded charge of second-degree murder.

After conducting an investigation, the detectives determined that the incident was of a domestic nature, with the suspect being the victim’s daughter.
