North Woodmere, NY – In the early hours of Saturday, February 10, a devastating incident unfolded in North Woodmere, leading to the untimely death of a 22-year-old man and the subsequent arrest of the driver on various charges.
According to the Nassau County Police, a 2023 Toyota, being driven by 26-year-old Aaron Cooper from Lindenhurst, lost control and overturned on Rosedale Road near the intersection of Lawrence Court. The unfortunate accident occurred around 4:30 a.m., prompting an immediate response from law enforcement and emergency services.
Following a thorough investigation, the police apprehended Cooper without any resistance. Tragically, the passenger in the vehicle, identified as Pablo Rivera from Valley Stream, was pronounced dead at the scene by a medic from the Nassau County Police Department.
Cooper was subsequently transported to a local hospital for treatment by a Nassau County Police Department Ambulance. He now faces a multitude of charges, including manslaughter, vehicular manslaughter, assault, driving while intoxicated, and reckless driving.
