CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – Detectives from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department have successfully apprehended a suspect in connection with the tragic shooting incident that claimed the life of a 17-year-old teenager in December 2023.
On Friday, February 9, law enforcement officers arrested Shawn Davis Jr., a 29-year-old individual, and promptly transported him to the Law Enforcement Center for further questioning by the detectives.
Details of the Incident
The incident took place in the early hours of Wednesday, December 27, when Murahnee Johnson, 17, and another victim sustained gunshot wounds in the 16200 block of Long Talon Way.
Arrest and Charges
Following the interview with Davis, the detectives handed him over to the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office. Davis now faces multiple charges, including first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and three counts of discharging a firearm into occupied property.
