Mohammad Danish : “Railway Security: Fatal Accident at Raipur Station”

A jawan of the Railway Protection Special Force (RPSF) lost his life, and a passenger sustained injuries after an unfortunate accidental discharge of the former’s service weapon at the Raipur railway station in Chhattisgarh on Saturday, as confirmed by an official.

The incident occurred around 6 am when a team of the RPSF, led by a sub-inspector, was disembarking from the Sarnath Express train after completing their escort duty. The tragic accident took place during this routine procedure, leaving devastating consequences in its wake, the official stated.

The victim, identified as Constable Dinesh Chandra, aged 30, was exiting the S-2 coach of the train when his service weapon unexpectedly discharged, resulting in a bullet penetrating his chest. Moreover, an unfortunate bystander, Mohammad Danish, who happened to be sleeping on an upper berth, suffered abdominal injuries due to the incident.

Both the injured individuals were promptly rushed to a private hospital for immediate medical attention. Despite the best efforts of the medical staff, Constable Dinesh Chandra succumbed to his injuries, leaving the railway community and his loved ones in mourning. On the other hand, Mohammad Danish is currently receiving treatment and is expected to recover.

Hailing from Rajasthan, Constable Dinesh Chandra was a dedicated member of the Railway Protection Special Force, entrusted with ensuring the safety and security of railway passengers. The loss of such a valuable life has deeply saddened the authorities and fellow colleagues. A thorough investigation into the incident is currently underway to determine the cause and circumstances surrounding the accidental discharge.
