LONGMEADOW, Mass. – The Longmeadow Police Department successfully located a missing 11-year-old boy who had run away from home on Saturday, bringing relief to his worried family.
The incident was reported by the boy’s mother to Longmeadow Police Chief Stocks at approximately 9:41 a.m. The family resides in the south section of Longmeadow, Massachusetts. Concerned for the boy’s safety, officers immediately initiated a search operation and activated an emergency response to expedite the process.
The Longmeadow Police Department collaborated with various agencies to aid in the search efforts. K-9 Units, Massachusetts State Police Troopers, and the Longmeadow Fire Department all joined forces to locate the missing child. Drones were deployed, and the police K-9s conducted a thorough ground search.
During the search, a BOLO (Be On the Look Out) advisory was issued to residents in the surrounding areas. The breakthrough came when an alert passerby reported sighting a young boy who matched the description of the missing child. The sighting occurred approximately one mile south on Route 5 in Enfield, Connecticut, at around 12:05 p.m.
The boy was promptly identified as the missing person and safely reunited with his family. The Longmeadow Police Department commended the collaborative efforts of all involved in swiftly locating the child and ensuring his well-being.
