A 29-year-old male suspect has been formally charged by the Chicago Police in relation to a stabbing incident that occurred in the vibrant West Garfield Park neighborhood. The accused, identified as Enrique Hairo, is facing multiple charges, including aggravated battery use of a deadly weapon, aggravated battery causing great bodily harm, and aggravated battery in a public place.
According to the authorities, Hairo was apprehended on Friday in the 1900 block of North Cicero Avenue. The arrest came after he was positively identified as the individual responsible for stabbing a 25-year-old man during the early hours of September 30. The incident took place in the 4100 block of West Wilcox Street, sending shockwaves through the community.
The suspect is now set to make an appearance at a detention hearing, scheduled for Saturday. This hearing will determine whether Hairo should be held in custody while awaiting further legal proceedings.
