A shooting incident occurred on Friday afternoon in Minneapolis during an attempted robbery, resulting in the death of one man and leaving another with serious injuries, according to the local police department.

The incident took place in an alley located in the 2400 block of Golden Valley Road, where two unidentified men approached a Mercedes sedan. The vehicle contained a driver and his 2-year-old toddler. Suddenly, gunshots rang out, and the startled sedan quickly fled the scene.

Upon receiving the report, officers were immediately dispatched to the shooting scene at approximately 3:40 p.m. They discovered one of the two men lying in the alley with life-threatening gunshot wounds. Despite the efforts of officers and paramedics who provided immediate medical aid, the man, believed to be in his 20s, tragically succumbed to his injuries. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s office is expected to release the victim’s identity and cause of death in the coming days.

Meanwhile, the driver of the Mercedes managed to reach North Memorial Health Hospital in Robbinsdale, sustaining potentially life-threatening injuries. Miraculously, the 2-year-old toddler remained unharmed. However, the vehicle bore damage from the gunfire, prompting an investigation into whether the shots were fired from inside the car.

The other individual involved in the shooting incident, a 21-year-old man, was apprehended at the scene and subsequently booked into the Hennepin County jail. He has been charged with murder and aggravated robbery, according to official records.
