28-year-old White man : “Fatal Motorcycle Crash on I-75 near Miramar: Tragic Incident Claims Life”

MIRAMAR — A tragic accident on Interstate 75 in Broward County claimed the life of a motorcyclist early Saturday morning. The crash, which involved multiple vehicles, occurred around 5:06 a.m.

According to authorities, a Chevrolet Suburban was traveling north on the outside center general-purpose lane of northbound I-75 near Pines Boulevard. Close behind the Suburban was a Harley Davidson motorcycle, which was approaching the SUV at a higher speed. Additionally, a Chevy Silverado was also traveling north on the inside center lane.

The Florida Highway Patrol reported that the motorcyclist failed to perceive the proximity of the Suburban and did not take evasive action to avoid a collision. As a result, the motorcycle crashed into the rear left side of the Suburban, causing the car to come to a controlled stop on the outside shoulder. The motorcyclist was thrown off the bike as it tumbled onto its side, sliding in a northwesterly direction. The motorcycle and the Suburban driver partially stopped on the inside center lane of I-75.

The Silverado, unable to avoid the motorcycle and its rider, collided with them and the Suburban before coming to a controlled stop on the inside shoulder. The motorcyclist continued to slide and tumble further north until finally stopping on the inside general-purpose lane, while the motorcycle itself slid in the same direction.

Tragically, the motorcyclist, identified as a 28-year-old White man from Plantation, succumbed to his injuries at the scene, according to FHP.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing, and authorities are currently working on notifying the next of kin.
