A Legacy of Compassion

Wall’s compassion for others left a lasting impact on those she encountered. Former Lafayette County Supervisor Mike Roberts, who worked alongside Wall for 12 years, spoke highly of her influence. Roberts shared, “I’ve known Sherry most of my life. She has always been a fixture in my life and in the lives of many people. So many have been influenced by her compassion – her compassion for people, her compassion for her job.” Wall’s encouragement even led Roberts to run for the position of chancellor after her retirement. He acknowledged the challenge of filling her shoes but expressed gratitude for her support and positive approach.

When Wall took breaks from her work and charitable endeavors, she found solace in tending to her garden and flower beds. She had a deep love for Oxford and enjoyed supporting Ole Miss football. Additionally, Wall cherished spending time with her seven grandchildren, creating precious memories with them.

News of Wall’s passing has left the Lafayette County community heartbroken. Lafayette County Supervisor and Board Chairman Brent Larson expressed his sadness and spoke of Wall as an inspiration to all.
