He pursued his education in South Africa and the United States, obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Fordham University and a Master’s degree in International Relations from the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences at The New School in New York.
President Geingob’s political career began in the 1960s, when he joined the South West Africa People’s Organization (SWAPO) in the fight against apartheid. He played a significant role in the liberation struggle and served as SWAPO’s representative to the United Nations. After Namibia gained independence in 1990, Geingob held various ministerial positions before becoming the country’s third President in 2015.
During his presidency, Geingob focused on promoting social and economic development in Namibia. He implemented policies to reduce poverty, address income inequality, and improve access to education and healthcare. President Geingob was known for his commitment to transparency and accountability, advocating for good governance and fighting against corruption.
