President Geingob’s passing leaves a void in the political landscape, as his powerful and moving eulogy during the funeral of our late 4th Republican President Rupiah Banda resonates in our memories.

Hage Geingob, born on August 3, 1941, in Otjiwarongo, Namibia, dedicated his life to public service and championed the cause of his people. As a prominent political figure, he played a pivotal role in shaping the nation’s destiny, leaving behind a lasting legacy.

Having obtained his education in the United States, Geingob returned to Namibia and became actively involved in the independence movement. He joined the South West Africa People’s Organization (SWAPO) and fought for the liberation of Namibia from South African rule.

Geingob’s political career flourished after Namibia gained independence in 1990. He served as the Prime Minister from 1990 to 2002, contributing significantly to the country’s development and progress.
