Etawah (Uttar Pradesh) [India], February 4 (ANI): An Assistant Sub-Inspector of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), who was injured in a landmine blast triggered by Naxals in Chhattisgarh’s Dantewada on Thursday, succumbed to his injuries at AIIMS hospital in New Delhi, officials said on Saturday.

The ASI breathed his last on February 2, they said.

According to officials, ASI Girish Babu belonged to Killi village in Uttar Pradesh’s Etawah district.

Background and Biographical Information

Girish Babu, an Assistant Sub-Inspector of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), dedicated his life to serving and protecting the nation. Born and raised in Killi village in Uttar Pradesh’s Etawah district, Babu always dreamt of serving his country and making a difference in people’s lives.

After completing his education, Babu joined the CRPF and was posted in Jammu and Kashmir. He had been serving in the force for several years, displaying exceptional bravery and commitment in the face of adversity.

In a recent turn of events, Girish Babu was transferred to Chhattisgarh’s Dantewada, where he was assigned to tackle the Naxal insurgency. It was a challenging and dangerous assignment, but Babu took it on with utmost dedication and fearlessness.

Cause of death

Tragically, on February 1, Babu was injured in a landmine blast triggered by Naxals in Dantewada district. The blast left him with severe injuries, and he was immediately airlifted to Delhi for advanced medical treatment.

Despite the best efforts of the medical team at AIIMS, Girish Babu’s injuries proved to be fatal. He fought bravely for his life but succumbed to his injuries on February 2.

Upon receiving the news of ASI Girish Babu’s demise, the district administration and Etawah Police administrative officers visited his house in Killi village to pay their respects and offer condolences to the grieving family.

Etawah SSP Sanjay Kumar Verma expressed his deep sorrow over the loss, stating, “Girish Babu was a dedicated and courageous officer who served the nation with utmost integrity. His sacrifice will always be remembered.”
