Tragic Accident Claims the Life of Sanjay Shah, CEO of Vistex
A joyful celebration at Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad turned into a devastating tragedy as Sanjay Shah, the CEO of Vistex, a US-based software organization, lost his life due to injuries sustained in an accident. The incident also left his colleague, Raju Datla, the firm’s president, critically injured.
The Incident: A Celebration Gone Wrong
During the silver jubilee celebrations of Vistex on Thursday, Shah and Datla found themselves in an iron cage that was meant to be lowered from a great height as part of their grand entrance. However, tragedy struck when one part of the iron chain holding the cage snapped, causing a fall that resulted in severe injuries for both individuals.
Celebrations Turned Tragic
Vistex had organized a two-day celebration at Ramoji Film City to mark their silver anniversary, providing accommodations for their staff. The planned entrance of Shah and Datla being lowered onto the stage from the cage was intended to be a captivating start to the festivities. Unfortunately, the wires supporting the cage gave way, leading to a fall of over 15 feet onto a hard concrete dais, turning the celebration into a tragic event.
Consequences and Legal Actions
Following the fall, Shah and Datla were immediately rushed to the hospital. Despite the best efforts of medical professionals, Shah succumbed to his injuries during treatment. Meanwhile, Datla remains in a serious condition. In response to a complaint filed by another company official, local police have initiated legal actions against the event management authorities of Ramoji Film City.
