Renowned Casting Director Nancy Green-Keyes Passes Away at 68
Nancy Green-Keyes, a highly regarded casting director, talent agent, and film producer, has passed away at the age of 68. She succumbed to acute respiratory failure at UCLA Hospital in Santa Monica after a brief illness.
Shaping Careers in Hollywood
Green-Keyes began her illustrious career in Hollywood as an assistant to talent agent Susan Smuth. Through hard work and dedication, she quickly rose through the ranks, eventually becoming an agent herself at the prestigious Peter Meyer Agency and Ambrosio/Mortimer. Throughout her career, she played a pivotal role in shaping the careers of esteemed actors such as Angela Bassett, Samuel L. Jackson, and Steve Buscemi.
Transition to Casting and Notable Credits
Later on, Green-Keyes made a successful transition into the field of casting, where she left an indelible mark. Teaming up with Matt Barry, she worked on numerous highly successful films. One notable instance from her casting career was during the audition process for the beloved film, The Notebook. There, pop icon Britney Spears delivered a compelling audition for the role of Allie, although ultimately the part went to Rachel McAdams.
A Legacy Beyond Casting
In addition to her influential role in casting, Green-Keyes also took on the role of producer for films such as Alpha Dog and Of Minds And Music. She leaves behind her daughter Tiffany Keyes, as well as her brothers Michael and Andre Green.
