Heather St. Pierre, Formerly of Troy, Passes Away at 33

Heather St. Pierre, a former resident of Troy in Rensselaer County, has tragically passed away at the age of 33. According to her obituary, she died at her home in Cambridge, located in Washington County, on Thursday, January 11. The cause of her death has not been disclosed.

A Life Full of Achievements and Service

Heather St. Pierre was born in Albany and graduated from Hoosic Valley Central School in 2008. During her time at the school, she left an indelible mark by setting records in pole vaulting and track events. After high school, she went on to earn a criminal justice degree from Bryant & Stratton College.

St. Pierre was a dedicated member of the Military Police in the Latham National Guard Reserves. She bravely served her country during a year-long tour in Iraq, displaying her unwavering commitment to duty and service.

A Talented and Hardworking Individual

Family and friends remember Heather St. Pierre as a hard worker, as well as a talented musician and artist. She had a passion for music and enjoyed playing the drums, piano, and keyboard. Her musical talent was truly a gift that brought joy to those around her.

News of her untimely death has shaken the community, with many expressing their condolences on social media. Staff Sergeant Joseph Lydon, a colleague from her time in the National Guard, nostalgically shared, “I had not seen Heather since shortly after we returned from Iraq. She was a good soldier, a beautiful girl with a beautiful heart and soul. Rest easy.”

Her aunt, Shannon Eddy, also took to Facebook to pay tribute to Heather. In her heartfelt post, she described her niece as “a bright light to all and a strong, amazingly brave woman.”

Heather St. Pierre is survived by her mother, Michelle Johnson-Dotterer, and her father, Randy James Johnson. She also leaves behind her siblings, Thomas Hatz, Sara Hatz, Randy Johnson Jr., Amanda Johnson, and Jennifer Johnson. The loss of Heather will undoubtedly be deeply felt by her family and friends.

A Farewell with Military Honors

A funeral service, honoring Heather St. Pierre’s service to her country, will be held on Thursday, January 25, at 1 p.m. The service will take place at the Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville. Military honors will be rendered, paying tribute to her dedication and sacrifice.
