A Legacy in the Heart of Harrison Township

David Boston was the proud owner of Boston’s Bistro and Pub, formerly known as The Sports Page, located on North Main Street in Harrison Township. The restaurant served as a beloved gathering place for the local community until its closure in July 2016. Reflecting on this significant chapter in their lives, the Boston family wrote on their Facebook page back in 2016, “This is the end of a 35-year chapter.”

The roots of Boston’s Bistro and Pub run deep, as David’s father, Stephen, built and operated Gypsy Gardens restaurant at the same location during the 1950s and 60s. The Boston family’s commitment to providing a welcoming and enjoyable dining experience has been cherished by locals for generations.

A Passion for Heritage

David Boston’s passion extended beyond the walls of his restaurant. He was a valued member of the Magyar Club of Dayton, an organization dedicated to preserving and celebrating Hungarian culture. His obituary highlighted his deep connection to his Hungarian heritage, stating that “his goal was to share his seasoning and Kolbaz with the world.”

A memorial mass will be held on Friday morning at St Rita’s Catholic Church in Dayton to honor David Boston’s life. Following the mass, a celebration of life will take place at the American Czech-Slovak Club, located in the 900 block of Valley Street, at noon.
